 A Note from Nurse Cassidy – Start of School Year Health Reminder

As we prepare for a healthy and successful 2025–2026 school year, please take a moment to ensure your child’s health records are up to date. Providing accurate and timely medical information allows us to provide the best care for your student during the school day.

🔹 What We Need:

Please submit updated medical documentation and emergency action plans for:

• Asthma (including inhaler use)

• Allergies and EpiPens

• Seizure Disorders

• Other medical conditions

GCS also requires:

• Diabetic Medical Management Plans

• Physician’s orders for any medication (prescription or over-the-counter) that will be administered at school.

Don’t forget to complete your student’s enrollment in the optional OTC medication program if you gave consent when you registered your student for this school year. Fees for this program can be paid online or in-person at GHS. STUDENT SHOULD NOT CARRY MEDICATION IN THEIR BACKPACK

Families, please remember that students should not carry medication with them in their backpacks. This includes prescriptions and OTC medications. Everything should go through our nurse. If you have not filled out the medication forms with our nurse and need your student to have access to those during school hours, please call or email the GHS nurse: cassidyn@gcschools.net .

These documents should be submitted before the first day of school to ensure your child’s needs are safely and appropriately managed.

School Nurse Availability:
The GHS school nurse will be available during school hours beginning Tuesday, July 29, 2025, to receive forms and discuss any health concerns you may have.
