TOPS offers special education services which provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs through a range of tailored interventions and accommodations. TOPS will work to implement personalized education plans (IEPs) developed in collaboration with families, educators, and specialists to address each student’s unique challenges. Services can include speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral counseling, all delivered via virtual platforms. Our online special education program uses adaptive learning technologies, modified curriculums, and assistive tools to ensure accessibility for students with disabilities. Additionally, regular progress monitoring, one-on-one tutoring, and small group instruction help create a supportive learning environment, enabling students to achieve academic goals at their own pace.

A team of certified special education teachers, therapists, and counselors work closely with general education staff to ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations, such as extended time for assignments, modified testing environments, and differentiated instruction. Parental involvement is emphasized, with frequent communication between families and school staff to ensure consistent support at home. Our online special education services aim to create an inclusive, flexible learning experience where students can thrive academically and socially, regardless of their location.

While TOPS provides a wide range of support for students with special needs, it’s important to recognize that for some learners, a virtual environment may not be the most effective setting. Students who require more hands-on, in-person support or who benefit from social interactions in a traditional classroom may face challenges adapting to online learning. For these students, the lack of physical presence can make it harder to engage, stay focused, or fully access certain therapies and interventions that are better delivered in person. We understand that every student has different needs, and our goal is to support the best learning environment for your child.

That’s why we work closely with families to assess the most suitable educational setting for each student, whether that’s online, or in a traditional classroom. If the online model doesn’t meet your child’s needs, we’ll collaborate with local schools and other educational providers to explore alternatives that ensure they receive the right combination of support.
