 "Our experience with online school began in 2020, when choosing our local public school's virtual option meant keeping our son safe from the global pandemic. He had a wonderful teacher that year and thrived with the flexibility of  Zoom classes. Our local elementary school didn't offer a virtual option the following year, so we decided to enroll him in a different online public school. While he continued to do well in his classes, the school itself was very unstructured, had quite a bit of staff turnover, and didn't give the students a chance to talk to and learn from each other." When he barely squeaked by the TCAP third-grade retention cutoff despite being a straight-A student, we knew we needed to make a change. From his very first week at TOPS, we could see a huge difference. The teachers are so much more engaged with the students, and he's actually able to interact with his classmates like he would in an in-person school setting.
