Tennessee Online Public School (TOPS) is proud to announce its official renewal for the next three years—an exciting milestone that reflects the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence, student success, and innovative online learning.
This renewal recognizes the dedication of TOPS educators, staff, students, and families who work together every day to create a supportive and high-quality virtual learning environment. Through personalized instruction, strong relationships, and a focus on student growth, TOPS has built a program that empowers learners to thrive both academically and personally.
As reported by The Greeneville Sun and credited to writer Amy Rose:
*“In other business during the meeting that lasted nearly one hour, the board voted to continue partnering with Bristol City Schools for operations of Tennessee Online Public School (TOPS) at Greeneville.
It was the first time the board voted for a three-year continuation, which extends the partnership through the 2028–29 school year. Since its inception in 2021–22, the partnership was approved annually by the school board.
TOPS provides online virtual learning for students in grades K–12, with Greeneville managing grades K–5.
It was noted that TOPS has experienced continuous growth in enrollment, becoming self-sustaining financially through local and state funding.
The board also approved a tuition-free program for both TOPS and Highland Elementary School.”*
This historic three-year renewal not only reflects confidence in the program’s success but also highlights the strength of the partnership with Bristol City Schools and the growing demand for high-quality virtual education options.
Looking ahead, TOPS remains committed to expanding opportunities for students, enhancing instructional practices, and continuing to meet the evolving needs of online learners. With a strong foundation and a clear vision for the future, the school is well-positioned for continued growth and success.
As TOPS celebrates this accomplishment, it also reaffirms its mission: to provide a flexible, rigorous, and supportive learning experience that prepares students for success in school and beyond.
This renewal is not just a recognition of past achievements—it’s a promise for the future.
