At Tennessee Online Public School (TOPS), exceptional educators do more than teach—they inspire, encourage, and make a lasting difference in the lives of their students and colleagues. This year, we are proud to celebrate our fourth-grade teacher Ms. Erica Worrell as our Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Erica brings positivity, kindness, and genuine care to everything she does. She has a special ability to make students feel supported and encouraged while creating a virtual classroom environment where learning is engaging, meaningful, and fun. Her dedication to her students is evident in the relationships she builds and the enthusiasm she brings to each school day.
Her impact, however, extends far beyond her classroom. Around TOPS, Ms. Erica has earned another beloved title: “The Computer Doctor.” Whether a colleague needs help troubleshooting a technology issue or navigating one of the unique challenges of virtual education, she is always ready to lend a hand. Her patience, knowledge, and willingness to help have made her an invaluable resource to the entire school community.
Ms. Erica is the kind of educator who consistently shows up for others. She supports her students, encourages her coworkers, and brings joy and positivity to the school community. Most importantly, she genuinely loves what she does, and that passion is reflected in the way she teaches and connects with those around her.
